Meet the species!
0DD D0GZ / Odd Dogs
Fabulous freaks of canine nature. Able to grow their fur in different styles and patterns. They do not like to be touched by strangers and will protect themselves with a nasty oil secretion when they feel threatened. Usually around half of their body is hairless at any given time. They can make designs like hearts/skulls/stars out of their fur colours but the colours stay the same. If in anthro form, they often have bright/dyed hair to contrast their main colours. Some breeds "poof" up to show they're the boss around other 0DD D0GZ.
IMPORTANT note from Aaron: All 0DD D0GZ must have tusks or fangs of some description. Co-owned by: Aaron McKellips Aka:Flying Aaron Bombs (FA) / Myself Original concept artist: Aaron McKellips Aka: Flying Aaron Bombs (FA) |

Bar Haustes
|
Bar Hausts are strange creatures not limited by the laws of Earth. Sometimes they inhale and float up off the ground! Although not very far and not for very long. Their mask is very important to them, as it blocks out most of the harmful sun rays from their small dark round eyes. Their fur is sometimes described as having a rubber texture. This is only confirmed by their relatively stretchy bodies, but don't go pulling on them, they don't like it very much. Their underbelly is formed by most of the bones in their body as a type of carapace. Perhaps this why, more than biting, they are known for crushing smaller creatures beneath them. No worries though, they can be trained and aren't very large.
This species has a silly habit of lightly nomming on their owner's long tails (If they have them), it doesn't hurt, just looks really funny. They do have a sticky mouth because of all the sugar they eat though. Current Owner and credits to: Me Original concept artist: Me |
B.e.a.r. t.r.a.p.'s
"Bear Trap"? Why would anyone name a species "Bear Trap"? No... BEAR TRAP. When the first one was found, the traveller thought nothing of it, just a cute little long-tailed rabbit of some sort. Until he turned to see a bear approaching him. He only looked back to see if he would step on the rabbit creature that had been behind him.... There it was... the cute bunny had unhinged it's jaw and the tail was poised with a grinning mouth. He passed out and awoke to a, once again, cute rabbit-creature laying beside him. "Was it just a dream?" He had asked himself, then sat up to see a digusting mess of blood and what looked to be a dimembered bear carcas. The "rabbit" looked at him with a blood-stained mouth and smiled wide with jagged teeth. After that encounter, the traveller left and told a hunter about what had happened, of course, you can't believe every story like that you hear, so he showed him. Bam, again. But why were they not being harmed? Why were there cougars and signs of wolves near-by? They went to a small hut in the middle of the forest and bothered the local alchemist, but he too did not believe until he saw this with his own eyes. The "rabbits" were so calm, not like most rabbits. All three agreed to call this little hoodlum "Bear Trap". After that, there were more sightings, everyone being saved from being mauled by a bear by a little rabbit. The original Bear Trap has since passed away but the town's people still call out "BEAR TRAP!" when a bear is near. The species has developed a habbit of crowding around visitors to the forest, giving the forest its nickname "Warren Woodland". If you go today, there aren't as many of them, since bear numbers have dwindled, but you can still find them if you look hard enough.
In between bear meals, these little guys eat clover and grass with the mouths on their tails. Tales tell of a Bear Trap that punishes people who falsely call on the Bear Traps for assistance. Likely just a story to scare the children into not abusing the assistance of the species, but unnerving, none-the-less. "... What if a Bear Trap and a Rabare meet?" NO... just no... you're sick. If you've thought of this question, you can probably imagine what would happen. Current Owner and credits to: Me Original concept artist: Me |

Crocodoggies
|
Croccodile Dogs! What's better than taking the two things that bite the most and putting them together? Taking the two things that bite the most and seeing them not bite because it cancels out! (Somehow...) Crocodoggies are fun and helpful. They love fetching. They'll sit by your side or lay on a dog bed and then jump up and trot over to you when you call them. They love nose pets and belly scritches. They sound more like croccodiles than dogs, but that's quieter in this case. Instead of chasing postmen, they'll greet them and grab your mail for you! How handy. They don't mind leashes and trot alongside you quite nicely. They really like your praise and attention. Favourite food by far is steak.
Notes: All Crocodoggies MUST have neon/day glow colours somewhere on them or the closest possible to neon/day glow. Mystery adopts via squeaky steaks. Current Owner and credits to: Me Original concept artist: Me |
Grinmyk
The species can be on land or water, but where they excel is on the water's surface, where they can use their, usually weak (They can only use them to glide or hover), wings to race along the waves. They are usually a very friendly, playful species, but can get aggressive when you try to pick them up.
The Grinmyk breeding season is in late Autumn, where they will lay their orb-like eggs to be frozen in the waters of ponds and lakes for the winter. When Spring arrives, the pups will emerge from these lakes, no trace of their egg to be found, with their 4 eye slits closed. At this time, they will be quiet, as they will open their mouth to see the world. (The soft, eye-lid resembling, palette of the Grinmyk is transparent, so they can see through it without hurting their eye.) Their 4 eye slits will open in a few months. Baby Grinmyk do not have teeth, and are about the size of a small dog. They feed on plankton and small soft animals/insects. They work up to eating medium-sized fish but never more than that. (Their skull doesn't grow enough to allow them to swallow anything bigger past their eye.) Adult teeth are blunt and sharp (no molars), solely used for killing the food so they don't chew/claw at the palette as they are swallowed whole. As the palette is transparent, the Grinmyk can watch for any signs of danger as it swallows. The tongue of the Grinmyk is really only used as a helping muscle to get food out in the case that it's too dangerous to swallow. The long whiskers of the Grinmyk are for feeling the area surrounding it, giving them a larger window of reaction time to predators that would otherwise eat the coffee-table-sized Grinmyk. Long ago, in a time before they developed nostrils, air-breathing lungs, and ears, the Grinmyk used their whiskers much like the modern angler fish. Whiskers are often bio-luminescent but can come in solid colours as well. The eye, however, is always glowing (even if only faintly). For a fast and stealthy flying or swimming creature. these creatures would be an easy meal. (They have no real defence: No armour, no poison.) The adult can open it's eye slits so there are only thin lines, giving the impression eye lids are there. Some mistake this as being surprized, when in actuality it's a sign that they are curious. (Trying to get a better view of something) Fact: The "eye" orb never actually grows. The body of the Grinmyk grows through the back of the egg and encloses around it to form the unique eye situation. The thin soft shell becomes the soft palette and cornea. (So for any possible egg Grinmyk adoptables, keep that in mind) Side note: Anthros maybe have hair but the feral form does not. (it interferes with eyesight too much and the fur doesn't grow that long). Anthros can be drawn with any style eyes. (As I don't expect everyone to get the hang of those unique eyes) There isn't much difference between males and females except the whiskers. Rabare
|
Imagine the look on the face of the first person to come across one of these Rabbit/Bear monstrosities. And then, imagine how silly it must have looked rolling around, acting like a cat. THAT is a Rabare. They don't fear like rabbits, because of their size, but they aren't mean like bears. Some make great companions, acting like a sort of make-shift horse for travel or a VERY LARGE pet. Most Rabares either live in redwood forests (Short-haired) or in the mountains (Long-haired). Don't be fooled, if you wander near a mother Rabare's den, she will get angry and fight, but usually they are very docile. The pups will usually stay with their mother for half a year before wandering away to live alone. Most litters are 1-3. They aren't territorial but if one finds another, they usually move to a different area of the forest so you almost never see a bunch of them together, though if you do, they are called a "warren".
There are myths of a very dangerous and violent Rabare whom was once a famous Necromancer's minion. He is said to live alone somewhere in the darkest depths of a forgotten mine somewhere in the north. Re-animated from death and infused with the soul of his master, it awaits anyone foolish enough to set it free. Current Owner and credits to: Me Original concept artist: Me |
Krai
Males are more sturdilly-built and have a bridge to their nose. Krai roam the plains and forests. A playful and highly energetic species that's goal in life is to enjoy every moment. About the size of a Saint Bernard. Very loyal. But most of them are kind of air heads. Some that don't pay attention while running have been known to develope mutations due to certain environments. Things like a third eye, metal fangs, and even irises/pupils have been known to develope. To be-friend one, simply hold out some food and give it lots of attention. They don't like leashes but they LOVE fish.

Vri
|
Distant relatives of the Krai, these guys tend to live in snowy areas. Their big paws allow for easier movement across ice and snow. They love rolling around when it's snowing and trying to bite the snow flakes as they fall. Playful and friendly. Favourite foods are chicken/turkey and cookie scraps from Christmas baking. Their small tails make them pretty clumsy looking sometimes but they're almost always happy, so it's okay if you laugh at them. They're usually pretty quiet but around other Vri, they make a cute little "chittering" noise. They snore very cutely when they tucker themselves out and LOVE to sleep on beds of all descriptions.
Some Vri can be trained to deliver packages! They'd make very cute Santa's helpers. Current Owner and credits to: Me (Bought out their side) Original concept artist: http://whatthef0xsays.deviantart.com/ |
